Welcome!
We are excited that you are joining us for the inaugural WIDA Global Community of Practice Capstone Celebration. We want to welcome our WIDA colleagues and educators from around the world – who are all part of the global WIDA network. We also want to thank our 16 Community Gardeners, teacher leaders who have helped co-construct this community throughout the year. Our teams have benefitted greatly from your support and feedback throughout this journey.
Today you will hear how sixteen schools have addressed a unique problem of practice. By connecting with WIDA scholars, considering relevant research and crowdsourcing with other community members, each school has created a prototype or pilot program to share with you today. You’ll hear from passionate educators innovating at the intersection of language and equity, and how they are using WIDA resources to help them better serve multilingual learners. Each presentation will be approximately 20 minutes long including time for questions at the end. We encourage you to attend as many live presentations as you can to engage with the presenters. For presentations you are not able to attend live, we will be adding recordings to this website in the upcoming weeks. If at any point today you have any technical difficulties, please email international@wida.us.
